HOPE MIDWIVES has the privilege and honor of being settlers & getting to work on the homeland of Treaty 6 territory; the traditional home and gathering place for many Indigenous peoples, including: Nehiyawak (Cree), Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), MĂ©tis, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe (Saulteaux/Ojibwe), and Inuit. We are thankful for the Traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders, both past and present, who have been living, working and growing on this land and have made it a beautiful place to welcome new life. We strive to learn more and acknowledge that more work needs to be done toward truth and reconciliation.
